What's that noise?

This morning I was sent Alex off to school with his friend.  They have been riding their bikes because the weather is still nice.  As I was in the garage saying good bye, I heard a strange noise outside.  It sounded like it was coming from above the house.  Alex's friend said, "There's a hot air balloon over your house!"  I heard a girl yell from the balloon to someone asking where they were going.  The person replied that they were going to school.  The girl in the balloon said, "So am I."  I ran in and grabbed the camera, opened the back door and took a picture of it flying over the neighbor's yard. What a way to travel!

Davis Marching Band Parents' Preview

This year's marching band ran into some problems.  A few weeks before band camp they still did not have their sets.  The new person hired to write the show did not do it, leaving the instructor to go back to the previous writer and beg him to make their show.  Two days before band camp the kids finally had most of their sets to work on during the long hot week in Delta.  It was a miracle.  It was also probably the best parents' preview they have had.
