Thursday night the doorbell rang. No one was there. Haha, very funny. A while later it rang again. No one was there. Okay, not so very funny. An hour later the same thing. At this point I started thinking someone was targeting us. We haven't lived here very long. What could I possibly have done to tick somebody off already?
The next morning Bill backed out of the garage and noticed a for sale sign in our yard. This was not some little sign you push in the grass with your foot. This was a big sign you have to pound in the ground with a mallet. What on earth was going on? What did we do to make somebody so mad that they wanted us gone?
Karl said that at about 10 p.m. the previous night he heard pounding outside his window. He looked out and saw a guy and a girl pounding in the sign. They were driving a dark minivan. They were not adults. He never even told us about it. He just went to bed.
Well, we got a call from our bishop asking what was going on. His wife called us later to get the story. The rumors were flying around the ward! We heard a bit of it at church today. Our next-door neighbor called to apologize. The sign was supposed to go in his yard. If the real estate company would hire someone to actually put up the signs during the day, none of this confusion would have happened. It is nice to know that they would like to keep us in the ward. We never did find out who was ringing our doorbell.

That is crazy! I'm glad it all got cleared up so you don't feel like you have to move. I'm glad it wasn't an OPEN HOUSE sign.
