Basketball misery

Bill's only form of exercise at this time is playing ward basketball. Every season he is injured. Frankly, I'm tired of the injuries. He has hurt his ankle, his pinkie finger, his thumb, dislocated his ring finger (now he can't wear his wedding ring), and (last week) pulled his calf muscle. I told him not to play on Wednesday night, but he won't listen to me. He said he would be careful. He came home with bruised ribs, and I saw him wrapping his ribs this morning before going to work. Will he ever learn? Pretty soon he will be in a body cast. He will still want to play basketball because "we have a good team this year." Men.

I just had to comment on this because it must run in the family. We have recently been to the chiropractor and a podiatrist trying to fix a basketball injury in Chris' foot. He still continues to play of course, and came home from the last game with his knee locked up...exactly what happened 2 weeks before our wedding and resulted in surgery and months of physical therapy. When I strongly suggested that he give up basketball he came home from work the next day with a new "accident" insurance which will cover the cost of surgery should he need it. How insane is that. The Southwick love of basketball is hard to die!!! Good luck to you with your man!!

That's too funny. An "accident" insurance sounds like something Chris would do.

That is hilarious! Brian is the same way. He seems to hurt himself on his walk over to the church to play basketball. Will it ever end?
